IndiaRAP worked with World Bank as one of the partners in Mumbai city to strengthen the road safety capacity of the municipal corporation under the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety. Over 180km of Mumbai’s high-risk roads were assessed by team of World Bank and IndiaRAP. The recommended safety treatments are being included in preparing safer road designs.
The number of fatal crashes in the city dropped by 40% which was attributed to the road safety improvement measures implemented under the initiative.
